This glass construction is made up of shards of trash glass collected from the streets of the artist’s former neighborhood in North Philadelphia. The work is an early iteration of an ongoing examination of gentrification, litter, and neglect seen in some areas of the city. The glass was assembled to create a map marking the general locations where the discarded pieces were found, transforming and elevating the scraps into something commemorative.
